"I had the realization that this knowledge has to be shared with everybody... because there are literally millions of people trying to develop their personal strengths of character... and in my research I've uncovered the strategy to actually succeed."
- Cameron M. Thompson, Anthropologist & Moral Psychology Expert

"The goal is not merely to know about what is to be done, but to actually do it."
- Aristotle, Philosopher & Founder of Lyceum Peripatetic School
Your habits become character, your character becomes destiny.
Begin today to shape your habits, begin today to shape your destiny.
Why You're Here
You've heard or read about the principle of 'arete' ("excellence"/"virtue") in the ancient Greek and Roman Stoics and other philosophers. And like most people, you've tried to live according to the some of these virtues, but even though you hold them up as ideals, you have no idea of how to actually cultivate them in yourself. You are looking for a practical way to acquire the virtues and a concrete method to achieve these personal strengths of character.
There is a Way
I have dedicated my life to the practical psychology and philosophy of arete/virtue, and after long years of study and practice, I am here to tell you there is a way. You see, the virtues (the word is Latin for 'strength') are innate capacities that every human being has, and like any other muscle in your body - you can strengthen them and grow them through exercise and practice. But, like any physical exercise, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about it. You wouldn't begin by trying to run a marathon if you've never run a mere 100 yards before - you wouldn't try to all of a sudden deadlift 450 pounds right now if the heaviest thing you pick up each day is your laptop. You must begin in the right place, and progressively increase your capacity through an effective sequence of exercises. The same is true with virtue (arete).
What You Will Learn in This Course
This course will give you a thorough understanding of what virtue (arete) is, its role in your personal life, relationships, and professional life, and how to set yourself up for success in practicing the virtues. You will also learn the key concepts associated with the psychology of virtue, the identification of the principle virtues, and how the different virtues relate to one another. Finally, we'll go over some practical steps you can take in beginning to acquire the virtues - you will learn a few simple exercises and how to put together a basic program for growing in a particular virtue.

Hi. My name is Cameron Thompson. I'm a life-long student of Stoic and Aristotelian philosophy (literally since I was a kid), and like you, I have sought to acquire those skills and strengths necessary to live the good life.
My training is in the theoretical and practical psychology of virtue development, and I have created a curriculum for acquiring the virtues in a systematic and practical way. I have worked directly with hundreds of people to train them in virtue and help them overcome their weaknesses to become men and women of character and integrity, using the system that I have honed through careful experimentation and diligent study for over 10 years.
And it is this system that I would like to share with you now.
